In order to be a successful unit, a forklift needs to be strong enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It must be able to move cargo quickly and effectively too. The machine must be ergonomically correct and comfortable for the operator too.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and dependable. The powertrain needs the power to continually provide great durability through its computer-managed engine and transmission. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The steer axle, drive, transmission and engine are all isolated to reduce both vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which needs minimum repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which lessen wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is offered by effective fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on nearly all machinery. It features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching that automatically adjusts in order to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal that minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. In addition, the auto deceleration feature lessens both break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for added strength, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes which are practically maintenance free and entirely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods that could add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. What's more, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made lots of safety features and ergonomic features part of their regular packages. These types of machines would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
