In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Because of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up along with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machines.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machinery are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machines deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
