Tire Types
Cushion tires are normally considered solid tires with no tread pattern. These tires are made for indoor smooth and solid surfaces. There are tread patterns available though, that are a lot suitable for different surface environments. The cushion tires are popular on smooth warehouse floors and in similar applications.

However, pneumatic tires require air and have been specially designed for outdoor use on uneven ground and loose surfaces. Pneumatic truck tires have higher ground clearance too. This raises the center of gravity of the forklift and greatly reduces its rated lift capacity. Most often, pneumatic tires are utilized in rough terrain environments because of their ability to navigate uneven surfaces in a smoother fashion. Lots of agricultural or mining operations and construction sites depend on these tires in order to make sure the machinery can travel as carefully and safe as possible.

Lift height and Lift Capacity
In order to determine the capacity of the vehicle needed, it is essential to know the maximum dimensions and weight of the loads you would be handling. As well, you must know the maximum fork height needed in order to rack or stack the loads. These factors, the lifting height and the load size, really affect the lift capacity of the truck. A bigger size load can move the center of gravity of the vehicle and change the load combination. This decreases the equipment's lifting capacity and affects the load being lifted and the height. Using various kinds of attachments could also affect the truck's overall capacity.

Mast Options
On the market these days are several different options of forklift masts. These comprise: single, double, triple and quad masts. The number indicated the amount of sections on the mast. In different circumstances, you would not be needed to make any choices because the lift height will dictate the kind of mast you would get, however, in trucks with very high lift heights, you could have an alternative.
