Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they transport cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can operate in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
